John Deere Green - Scrapbooking layout

John Deere Green -Scrapbooking

Be sure and read the details about this tractor die cut, it was a blast to make and was SO easy!
This layout features my boyfriend Buddy, when he received his brand new John Deere mower. I know a lot of people have steered away from themed layouts, but frankly like a lot of you I have too much money invested in my themed embellishments not to use them, regardless of the current trends, so you will still find them here :)

Due to my horrible chicken scratch handwriting which is even hard for "ME" to read the journaling says:
After push mowing our yard for years, no one was happier than Buddy to finally get a riding mower! 2007

Tractor Die cut:

There is a secret about this green tractor die cut, it looks like I did a ton of paper embellishing on this die cut, however I did not.  All the black colors on this die cut were drawn on with a Sharpie Marker! Including the wheels, smoke stack, steering wheel, basically anything black on the die cut was done with the Sharpie! My only tip about this it to make sure you color your die cut BEFORE it is glued on to your layout to avoid any kind of marker bleed. (Don't ask me how I know this...)

The yellow was done with a tiny strip of yellow cardstock, and two circle punches. Then I just sewed on the buttons. (You could glue the buttons on if you prefer) Super quick, and easy! The John Deere logo is just a sticker, from a sheet of John Deere stickers.

Other interesting items used on this layout were the green sewing rick rack, the green sign post which is actually a garden marker, and the tiny tractor brad.  The lawnmower sticker came from one of my grand kids coloring books! (If you tell them I WILL deny it!)

Supplies for this layout include:
DCWV - Yellow Cardstock, Green, Black
Wrights - Rick Rack 116402 Emerald Green 44
Creative Imaginations Heritage Logos - John Deere 26927 08211
Letter stickers - Making Memories Little Letters 16025
Black Sharpie Marker
Pilot Gel Pen - 07
Circle Punches - Yellow tire inserts
Marvy Uchida
McGill
Making Memories - Leather photo corners
Brads - Eyelet Outlet - Tractor 95A, Recollections - round brads
Buttons - Unknown, matching thread
Plant Marker - this is supposed to be used to mark where you planted your seeds outside in your garden, but I thought it made the perfect sign holder.
The lawn mower sticker came out of a children's sticker / coloring book.

Until next time Happy Scrappin! Love Penny
