How to Upscale a Household Key Holder

Good morning crafters' Penny here today to show you how to upscale a key holder.

I bought this shadowbox key holder at a thrift store.  The door was broken, it was dirty, and the front photo was water stained, but it had great potential.

The inside was really cute, and had sections where you could have your house keys without anyone knowing they were there.

So to get rid of the dirt, and grime that had built up on it I used ScraPerfect's Best Cleaner Ever and the Perfect Cleaning Cloth . Together they made an amazing difference to the frame of this box as you will see in the last photo on this post. This cleaner works on a huge assortment of materials, and the Perfect Cleaning Cloth  cleans eyeglasses, laptop screens, electronic touch screens, camera lenses, and a multitude of other surfaces. Together they can tackle just about any dirty job with success.

This is the chipboard backing of the photo.  You can clearly see it has some pretty serious water stains, and needs to be replaced.

So using the old piece as a pattern I cut out some thick white cardstock to replace it with. Wow, what a difference!

To replace the stained front section I cut a piece of pastel checked pattern paper, using the old photo as a template..

On top of the pastel check I added this cute quote, and added some bling gems to give it a little more color. I held everything in place with 4 pink brads. I couldn't add too many embellishments because there wasn't room in the area in between the glass..

Then I removed enough of the staples to reinsert the new front photo, and backing. At this time I also replaced the missing screws that held the door on properly.

I plan on giving this as a Christmas gift.  I hope you like it as much as I do, and you do your own "Trash to Treasure" remake. Till next time Happy Scrapping, Love Penny

How to Made a Disney Scrapbook Page.

Here is a double page layout I did for some Disney photo's.  I made this several years ago, and this was the only photo I had of it before I gave it away.  I wish I had gotten some better shots of it.  Oh well enjoy!

The top right with Mickey peeking out was a post it note. The yellow flower on the bottom of that page was from a wire bouquet that I cut the stem off of.  The other smaller yellow flowers were made from foam stickers, and some bling dots. The row of Mickey mouses were made by just using some kid's stickers. Super easy pre-made layout! Till next time Happy Scrapping. Love Penny

How To Make a Double Page Autumn Wedding Layout

Good morning crafter's Penny here today to show you a cute double page wedding layout I made recently. I made this for a friends wedding album where she was using Autumn wedding colors.  Her theme colors were orange, and yellow, and her flowers were sunflowers.  I had never been to an Autumn wedding, and it was beautiful.

I wish I had taken more step by step photo's of these pages however I didn't.  To glue these many types of embellishments down I used the Best Glue Ever by ScraPerfect

This glue is great for metal, plastic, chipboard, paper, fabric, and just about anything you need to glue down. It also takes an extremely small amount of glue to hold your items in place. Well till next time Happy Scrapping. Love Penny

How to Save Money on Your Crafting Supplies

Good morning crafter's Penny here today to show you how to save money on your crafting supplies.

Here are some really cute flowers that have great fall colors and super cute texture.  If I purchased these in the scrapbook or crafting department, they would have cost me a fortune. Instead I purchased them from Dollar Tree and took them off the stems of their $1.00 flowers.

To store them I placed them with like colors and styles in small plastic baggies, trying to keep the petals flat till I need them for my crafts. (Sorry about the glare on this photo, but I had to use my flash today as it was raining.) So I hope the next time you are browsing around for some new crafting supplies you don't over look these beauties, and save yourself some cash.  Till next time Happy Scrapping. Love Penny

How to Easily Use Vinyl For Your Next DIY Party Decorations

Good morning crafter's Penny here today with an ice bucket I made using the Fluorescent vinyls, from Tape Technologies, and StyleTech Craft.

This was a super easy project, and very inexpensive to make.  The bucket came from Dollar Tree, and you could change the theme on the bucket easily to match any party theme you have coming up..

For my bucket I used some of the following colors from this Fluorescent collection: The colors are amazing, and it's super easy to work with.

To cut my vinyl I used a small cuttlebug.  The vinyl cuts like a dream, and is easy to use.  I hope you check out their Facebook page to view their new and exciting colors, and other fabulous styles that are also amazing!. Well till next time Happy Crafting. Love Penny
